What a superb evening!!
 
I think most Brethren there would say “You don’t see many ceremonies better than that”. The installing Master W. Bro. Michael Pinckard did an outstanding job of installing his successor Bro. Stephen Lewis Hallam.

The lodge was opened in due form,  after the lodge business. The  galaxy of Grand officers processed in, with W.Bro. Peter Taylor Representing the R.W. P.G.M. However prior to the Grand Officers entry. A surprise visitor. The Dept. P.G.M.  V. W.  Bro. Geoffrey Lee P.G.J.O. was given a warm welcome into the Lodge.

For the installation W. Bro. B. Wright P.G.Std.B. was invited to take the chair of the S.W. W.Bro D. Rotherham P.A.G.D.C. the  J.W. chair and W. Bro. S. Cowburn P.G.J.O. to act as inner guard. The candidate Bro. Hallam was then presented by W. Bro. C. Mills P.G.Std.B.  Bro, Hallam was then installed in the chair of Adoniram in a faultless ceremony by W. Bro. Mike Pinckard

The Brethren were then re-admitted. The Working Tools were then presented by Bro. John Roxburgh. The Address to the W.M. was given by V. W. Bro. Rod Bennison P.G.J.O. The Address to the Wardens was then given by W. Bro. Jim Airey P.Pr.G.J.O.  and the Address to the Overseers by W. Bro John Dean Pr. G. M.O.

W. Bro. Peter Taylor P.G.S.D. then gave the Address to the Brethren, and brought the congratulations and best wishes of the  P.G,M, R.W. Bro Keith Beardmore P.G.J.O. to the W. Master Bro. Hallam and the Brethren of Leyland Mark Lodge No 1002.
V. W. Bro. Paul Snape P.G.J.O.  the P.G.M.’s Special Representative for Central Lancashire then presented a Grand Lodge Certificate to Bro. the Revd. M.A. Wolverson in his own inimitable way. The Grand Officers retired and the Lodge was closed in Peace and Harmony
